Exploring the history of the LGTBQ+ community in Tualatin
Emily Baker’s efforts to design, develop and deploy her research on Tualatin’s LGBTQ+ people is in its infancy. Join this interview, panel discussion and interactive program where she will lay out the challenges ahead; talk to our guest panelists; and ask the audience for their thoughts and questions.
Guest Panelists:
Susan Keesee: has a BS in Nursing from OHSU and was the Insurance Relations Manager for RS Medical before retiring in 2011. She and her partner Linda have lived in Tualatin since 2009.
Chris Paul: is Co-Chair of the Tualatin IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) Advisory Committee. He and his husband moved here from the Salt Lake City area.
Pastor Amy Overton-Harris: was born and raised in Binghamton, New York and has been an Oregon transplant for many years now. Today she ministers at Tualatin’s Methodist Church and believes “God calls us to use our gifts, not to judge but to embrace”.
Robin Will: board member of the Oregon Queer History Collective which was founded in 1994 as the Gay & Lesbian Archives of the Pacific Northwest (GLAPN).
Moderator, Emily Baker: earned degrees in philosophy and Electrical Engineering from PSU. She works as an application engineer for aviation technology firm.
