From the ice age to the dawn of the 20th century, Tualatin Historical Society’s co-founder will take you on a journey of exploration which will include the following topics:

  • The impact of the ice age on Tualatin and it’s environs.

  • Surprising information about the first inhabitants.

  • Life on the Oregon Trail.

  • The first land claims in Tualatin.

  • Living in Tualatin during those first years.

  • The 2nd wave of settlers

  • The boomtown years.

Joseph Galbreath was baby when his parents Samuel and Sarah travelled over the Oregon Trail and took a 320 acre claim that spanned the Tualatin River.

The family’s name lives on with the Historical Society’s Galbreath Wagon which will soon be on display for the public to enjoy.
