Firetrucks: From the 40’s until Today.

  • THC 8700 Southwest Sweek Drive Tualatin, OR, 97062 United States (map)

Be sure to bring your kids to this family event.  On Saturday August 7th from 11-2 at the Heritage Center you can see how 70 years has changed the face of firefighting. Join us in celebrating this piece of history along with the fantastic folks from TVF&R.  On display will be a 1950 Ford firetruck from the days when THS board member Yvonne Addington’s father was on the board of the Tualatin Fire Department.  We will also have a modern fire truck so you can see how time and technology has changed the equipment available to our valued firefighters.  Member Brian Clopton has overseen this multi-year project.  He brought on Kelvin Staven to complete the restoration to be period correct. During World War 2 our local fire department was expanded from our city to Tualatin Rural Fire Protection District—an 89 square mile area. Snacks and gifts for kids. Free event.

Donations Accepted.
