Leading efforts to enhance, assist, and promote the Willamette Falls & Landings Heritage Area

The Willamette Falls & Landings Heritage Area Coalition formed in 2006. It is a partnership of public, private and nonprofit organizations with a shared passion for the 56-river-mile heritage area: its rich heritage, natural beauty, agriculture and recreational opportunities. They are working collaboratively to see it established as a National Heritage Area.

Come and join their Executive Director, Britta Mansfield as she shares with the Tualatin Historical Society a unique region with a diverse record of historical cultures, discoveries and settlement since time immemorial. They strive to focus on increased awareness and education of the region’s broad and complex history, including neglected and untold stories.

Britta Mansfield lives in Newberg and grew up in Tigard. She has a professional background in heritage work and nonprofit management. Directly after graduating from George Fox University with a bachelor’s degree in history, she moved to Newberg full time and became increasingly involved in the community that quickly became her home. Britta worked as the Executive Director of the Hoover-Minthorn House Museum and briefly served as the Associate Director of the Newberg Downtown Coalition. She is the Executive Director of the Willamette Falls & Landings Heritage Area Coalition and has served on a number of volunteer boards including Taste Newberg, the Newberg Area Historical Society and the Newberg Historic Preservation Commission
