Dr. Scott Burns is a geology professor at Portland State University. He is in his 51st year of teaching. His first five years of teaching were in the Swiss Alps at the American college of Switzerland. He taught many classes in geology, biology and alpine ecology there, and he took his students on over 40 field trips and was a nature guide to the Matterhorn.
