Curb Blight—renewal in Tualatin

Curb blight is another way to describe urban decay.  The deterioration of an area due to neglect or age. Either way you say it, Yvonne Addington lived it.

We live in a very different Tualatin today than the one of 50 years ago. There is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. Like the onions in the fields which use to surround Tualatin, Yvonne’s story has many layers. Come hear the inspired and sometimes humous background about Tualatin growing from an untidy rural village to the handsome urban area it is today. Key players such as Goldschmidt, Gensman Brock, Vic Atilla, Jason Hervin (Blue Mountain Dog Food) and others will be highlighted as this important tale unfolds during our next membership program.

Tualatin Heritage Center, Wednesday, February 1st at 1pm.

Yvonne Addington grew up with Tualatin. She is a witness to the many changes in our town over the past decades. She also has served our community in countless roles including as our first city manager and representing our interest in the state’s and nation’s capital.
