Interviewer: Sandra Lafky Carlson

Early pioneers in Tualatin business, the Hannegan family has been in Tualatin for almost a hundred years. Hear Mike and Sandra Hanegan Stearns discuss when grandpa, crippled by a work accident, moved to the area for the better weather from Montana. Starting with a chicken farm in the Tonkin area south of town, and in much of Western Oregon, this family left many legacies--especially the former Gas Station on Boones Ferry. Listen to our Historian Sandra Lafky Carlson as she "fuels up" on Hannegan history.

“He was sure he was gonna get drafted so he wanted to get rid of the station and move back up to the Tualatin area.”

“What are you doing having this girl working here?”
